Karl Beisel's Philosophy:

Advocate responsible and efficient state budgets.

Karl Beisel believes that only by keeping budgets small can we keep taxes low. He believes there is room for finding greater efficiency in the provision of many government services. In addition, Karl feels there are some services that are better provided by private businesses, charities and community groups rather than by government through taxpayer expense.

Oppose any and all new taxes, including income and sales taxes.

Karl Beisel will vigorously oppose all efforts to create new taxes or to raise the rates on existing taxes. He will vote against any and all efforts to impose a sales or income tax, which he believes are unwise and discourage frugal budgeting.

Improve education through innovation and choice.

Karl Beisel will support efforts to expand New Hampshire's public charter school programs that give parents greater choice in where they send their children. He also supports some form of voucher or tax credit system that will make it easier for lower-income parents to send their children to a private school they feel is best suited for their children.

Strengthen local control and local decision-making.

Karl Beisel feels that too many decisions are now made in Washington, DC and Concord. He believes that some programs administered by the federal government may not be right for New Hampshire, and he supports pulling New Hampshire out of such programs. In addition, he believes more decisions on budgets, taxes and education should be made at the local level rather than the state level.

Provide outstanding constituent services.

Karl Beisel will work hard to be available to his constituents by telephone or e-mail, and to act on their behalf whenever appropriate to do so.
